In the summer of 2002, a British hit called Pop Idol landed on our shores and became not only an instant success, but one of the biggest shows in American television history. The grueling competition has crowned Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks successively, and has grown bigger and bigger each season. RYAN SEACREST
Ryan Seacrest is enjoying a successful broadcasting career and was recently awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was twice voted one of People Magazine's Most Beautiful and was named among their 2005 and 2006 Most Eligible Bachelors. With Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) becoming a known entity in producing and hosting television and radio specials, his many restaurant investments, as well as the launch of the R Line of clothing, Seacrest is redefining what it means to be an entrepreneur and a quadruple threat in Hollywood.
He is celebrated internationally as host of AMERICAN IDOL, "American Top 40," as well as "On Air with Ryan Seacrest", which has become the most-listened-to morning show in L.A.
Originally from Atlanta, Seacrest began his professional career in broadcasting at the age of 16 when he applied for an internship at one of Atlanta's top radio stations, WSTR/STAR 94. While working at STAR 94, Seacrest finished high school and went on to attend the University of Georgia, where he majored in Journalism. During his freshman year in college, Seacrest was offered his first television show as the host of ESPN's "Radical Outdoor Challenge," in which athletes competed for cash prizes.

Paula Abdul is one of the most recognized pop singers and choreographers in film, television, video, stage and live tours. Her celebrated work in choreography includes Emmy-winning contributions to "The Tracey Ullman Show," Abdul's own performance on "The American Music Awards" and her choreography for the Academy Awards, for which she earned an Emmy nomination.
Abdul's music career encompasses worldwide album sales exceeding 30 million records, two No. 1 albums, six No. 1 singles, a Grammy Award, seven MTV Awards, two Emmy Awards, two People's Choice Awards and two Kids' Choice Awards. She has also been honored with a Star on Hollywood Boulevard and inducted into Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Hall of Fame.
Contestants and viewers alike praise Abdul's positive feedback on AMERICAN IDOL. She has even designed good-luck jewelry for the IDOL contestants, which provided the inspiration for her most recent venture.
Simon Cowell's honesty on AMERICAN IDOL has made him a household name in America. His UK-based production company, SYCO, produces the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Award-winning "The X Factor," the No. 1 entertainment show in the UK, now in production for its third season. Cowell continues to serve as both executive producer and star of the show, which debuted in September 2005.
The UK version of AMERICAN IDOL, "Pop Idol," is where Cowell became a celebrity in his own right. In 2006 Cowell was ranked No. 29 on Forbes Magazine's Celebrity 100 Power List. He was named one of People Magazine's 25 Most Eligible Bachelors in 2004, while Entertainment Weekly named him one of the Top Entertainers of the year. Grammy Award-winning producer Randy Jackson is a 20-year music industry veteran. He started out at the age of 13 playing bass and got his big break when he joined the band Journey. As a musician and producer he also spent eight years as the Vice President of A&R at Columbia Records, followed by four years as Senior Vice President. of A&R at MCA Records.
Jackson has recorded, toured and performed with the likes of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, *NSYNC, Madonna, Elton John, Destiny's Child and many more.
Jackson has worked on over 1,000 gold and multi-platinum albums. His contributions have helped to sell over 200 million albums worldwide. With his talent and studio knowledge, combined with his performing, touring and record company experience, Jackson is one of today's most highly regarded music industry experts.
